We've Been Laying the Groundwork Over the Past Decade

From ROS-Industrial research to 1 billion+ production picks, our story is one of persistent innovation.

2010

Erik Nieves, as Technology Director for Yaskawa Motoman Robotics, maps robotics development horsepower in the Americas and identifies ROS as an emerging force.

2011

Shaun Edwards develops software for the first industrial robot controlled with the simple_message protocol at Willow Garage, which later becomes ROS-Industrial.

2012

Shaun launches the ROS-Industrial repository, and Paul Hvass launches the ROS-I Consortium at SwRI.

2013

ROS-I emerges at the Automate Conference in Chicago with a 3D vision-driven robotic picking demo. Erik becomes the Yaskawa Motoman Consortium representative.

2014

Shaun leads a parcel singulation research project. Erik participates with NASA on RROXITT for remote human-in-the-loop satellite servicing.

2015

Paul and Shaun develop the PickOne Perception System. Yaskawa sponsors three teams at the Amazon Picking Challenge in Seattle.

2016

Erik founds Plus One Robotics Inc. Shaun Edwards joins as co-founder. The journey begins.

2017

Plus One begins evangelizing supervised autonomy. Shaun participates in the winning DMDII proposal resulting in the ARM Institute.

2018

PickOne v1.0 released. CheckOne deploys at its first fulfillment center. Plus One emerges from stealth mode.

2019

Yonder deploys and the first Crew Chief goes on duty. The Quick Deployment Kit launches.

2020

First robots deployed at FedEx Memphis Hub. Named one of The Information's 50 Most Promising Startups.

2021

First robots deployed in the EU. Series B funding raised. Netherlands office opens. Erik named to the board of the RIA.

2022

Successful pilot at DHL USA, expanding the company's footprint in global logistics.

2024

Passed 1 Billion lifetime picks across all deployed robots. ICC robot gripper released for parcel handling applications.
